Network meeting for location communities 2022

After two and a half years of interruption due to the coronavirus pandemic, an event for location communities was held again on October 11, 2022. As usual, the event was once again a combination of specialist presentations and personal discussions.

Ms. Gabriele Zingsheim, Head of Economic Development of the City of Hanover, was delighted to welcome the representatives of Hanover's location communities to City Hall once again after a long time. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Krüger from HafenCity University Hamburg was introduced as the guest speaker.

The guest lecture described the economic problems and the structural change of the centers and showed how the transformation can succeed. One building block is the creation of high-quality public spaces and areas for events. Cooperation between owners, tradespeople and social and cultural players is necessary in order to create an attractive mix of uses.
Participants at the event also expressed a desire to talk to the owners in some districts in order to make the uses more attractive. The Economic Development Agency has offered assistance and is available as a contact partner.
