Sightwise GmbH

Address: An der Universität 1, 30823 Garbsen

Contact: Nils Graf-Gutsche

Description: Sightwise GmbH develops and distributes innovative solutions for AI-based image processing in the context of visual quality assurance for manufacturing companies. The focus is on the detection of surface damage, for example on metallic components in the automotive or aerospace industry. By generating synthetic (artificial) training data based on 3D geometry, the limitations of conventional AI approaches – for example, in terms of insufficient data diversity and quality – can be overcome. The Sightwise AI pipeline generates a customized data set for each application, optimizing model performance for each specific customer. The result is software for analyzing 2D image data that is used in production, for example, in-line or in final inspection, to check the surface quality of products and components.

This opens up the possibility for customers to automate a range of inspection applications that were previously performed manually. Conventional approaches to 2D image processing have failed, particularly in cases of high component variability, rare types of damage, or dynamic lighting conditions. In contrast to many providers of conventional (AI) image processing, Sightwise GmbH focuses precisely on these complex, previously unsolved inspection tasks, offering its customers a twofold path to return on investment (ROI) – on the one hand, through the automation and objectification of the previously manual process and, on the other hand, through the systematic collection of image data and inspection results for the first time, which are then available downstream for comprehensive process analyses. Depending on the product and industry, these analyses can then be used, for example, for production process improvements, predictive quality, or in the context of traceability.
