About the program

January 16, 2026 - The regioLab+ project follows the special call for funding "Promotion of innovative structural projects for the continuing vocational training of employees in transformation" by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs, Labor, Health, and Equality. The funding of innovative structural projects is assigned to the skilled labor alliances (FKB), and regioLab+ belongs to the Leine-Weser skilled labor alliance.

Back in 2019, an agreement was reached in the National Continuing Education Strategy (NWS) to promote decentralized continuing education networks and regional cooperation between companies, especially SMEs, and to provide financial support for them in the form of model projects.

RegioLab was one of these decentralized continuing education networks and was part of the federal program "Aufbau von Weiterbildungsverbünden" (Establishment of Continuing Education Networks) from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2024, through which the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs supported 53 continuing education networks nationwide. During these three years, the regioLab Continuing Education Hannover coordination office took the first steps and raised awareness of continuing education in the Hannover region, sensitizing companies to this topic.

The new regioLab+ project aims to continue the work successfully begun in the expired project and expand it with new offerings. Funding will be provided from August 1, 2024, by the Investment and Development Bank of Lower Saxony and will consist of funds from the EU and the state of Lower Saxony.

The project is funded 70 percent by the Investment and Development Bank of Lower Saxony (NBank) and 30 percent by the Hanover region. The project will run for 14 months (August 1, 2024-September 30, 2025).
