UNLEASH Startup Convention Hanover

The event offered a diverse program on four stages with inspiring keynotes, interactive pitches and valuable networking opportunities. Miriam Höller, former stuntwoman and entrepreneur , opened the convention with a moving keynote. She emphasized that failure is not a defeat, but an opportunity for reflection and innovation. Her personal story, characterized by setbacks and getting back up again, deeply inspired those present.

Another highlight was the keynote speech by Raoul Roßmann, Junior CEO of the Rossmann drugstore chain. He emphasized the social responsibility of entrepreneurship and shared valuable insights into corporate management. He emphasized how start-ups can gain importance for corporations like Rossmann by supporting established companies in their strategic development and successful adaptation to dynamic market changes. This collaboration can create valuable partnerships that have the potential to drive innovation and growth on both sides.

Numerous other top-class speakers and talks enriched the program, including, among others: Julius Harling, CEO and founder of Graswald , presented the success story of his start-up, which uses AI to create photorealistic 3D models from simple product videos in order to efficiently generate authentic product photos and lifestyle images. NovoAI presented innovative solutions in the field of artificial intelligence that have the potential to revolutionize various industries. MissiontoMarsh presented their sustainable projects that focus on the protection and restoration of moorland landscapes and emphasized the importance of such initiatives for climate protection. Raphael Meyer-Alten from Choyze gave an insightful lightning talk on sustainability as an empirical decision criterion, encouraging the audience to reflect on the integration of sustainable practices into business strategies.

The RECKEN , Hannover's premier league handball team, enriched the convention with a panel on the topic of "Sport and entrepreneurship". They discussed the parallels between sporting and entrepreneurial success and provided valuable inspiration for the participants. They challenged the start-ups to combine business and top-class sport as the "Start-up of the Matchday".

Regional President Steffen Krach impressively outlined how transformative processes form the basis for sustainable progress. A central element of his presentation was the appeal to involve not only political actors but also experts from specific fields in transformation processes. This is the way to clearly define challenges for the Hannover Region and beyond, maintain focus and develop sustainable solutions.

In his closing remarks, Lord Mayor Belit Onay emphasized the importance of strong networks and collaborations that make Hannover a leading location for innovative start-ups. With a clear focus on technology, health, impact and diversity as well as extensive funding opportunities, the city offers ideal conditions for start-ups. He also emphasized Hannover's international orientation, high quality of life and vibrant start-up culture as decisive factors that not only attract but also sustainably support founders.

Doris Petersen, Managing Director of hannoverimpuls GmbH and organizer of UNLEASH, was delighted: "UNLEASH has given the startup scene a new format that makes the potential of founders in our region impressively visible. This event was not only a highlight for the entire startup ecosystem, but also a great premiere that showed how much innovative power and dynamism there is in Hanover. It was the perfect place to share ideas, strengthen networks and shape the future together."

The very positive feedback from the participants confirmed the success of the event. One participant summarized: "Great event with lots of input! - that really sums up UNLEASH. It wasn't just about exciting presentations and powerful insights, but also about meeting people who really help you move forward - personally and as an entrepreneur. Between the keynotes and workshops, you simply made connections that can really make a difference for me."

The convention was hosted by Amiaz Habtu, known from "Die Höhle der Löwen", who led through the program with his charming manner.

UNLEASH, supported by Startup City Hannover, acted as a catalyst for innovation and new partnerships in the region. In addition to the numerous presentations and panels, the convention also offered space for interactive workshops in which participants were able to implement their ideas directly. The atmosphere in the ASTOR Grand Cinema - an exceptional venue for such an event - created an inspiring environment for creative exchange.

Planning for the next UNLEASH is already underway and the anticipation is great. Successful formats will continue to be expanded here in the future and top-class speakers and exciting topics will once again be presented. As a central hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, the Hannover Region will once again be in the spotlight here.
