Back2Job IV - STEM Fresh Start 2025
Female Engineers Wanted
The goal of the follow-up project to “Back2Job” remains to encourage women with college degrees in technical fields—who are currently unemployed or part of the “hidden workforce”—to re-enter the workforce after taking time off to raise a family. Special attention is given to the participation of women with immigrant backgrounds.
Thanks to the success of the pilot project and the close cooperation among stakeholders in the Hannover Skilled Workforce Alliance, Back2Job has been successfully institutionalized as part of a joint initiative by the Hannover Employment Agency and the Hannover Region Job Center.
As the “Neustart MINT” project component, participants can now join the program every two months under the umbrella project “Campus Family and Career.” What makes this approach unique is that participants receive individualized support to strengthen their cross-disciplinary skills, refresh their specialized knowledge at the university, and gain practical experience in companies (dual qualification). The Hanover Region covers the costs for counseling and support during the course of study.
The project is administered by Bildungswerk der Niedersächsischen Wirtschaft gGmbH.
- Start Date: July 14, 2025
- End: July 13, 2027
Primarily women with an immigrant background who earned their academic degrees in their home countries.
The Region of Hanover is a strategic partner through its Department of Economic and
Employment Promotion and provides proportional funding for the project.![]()
