papair GmbH

Papair is a start-up from Hanover that develops innovative technologies for the production of sustainable packaging materials. The first of these technologies enables the production of PapaiWrap, a "bubble wrap made of paper." It is the sustainable alternative to conventional packaging materials and consists of 100% recycled paper, thus avoiding plastic waste. PapairWrap is fully recyclable and biodegrades completely within a very short time. It can be disposed of via the existing recycling system. Additional functionalities and packaging materials such as shipping bags and padded shipping boxes are currently in development.

Since 2021, skando energie from Hanover has been represented on the energy market as a competitive metering point operator and supports various companies from different industries in saving electricity costs and reducing_{CO2 emissions}. We have already convinced furniture stores, bakeries, butchers, car paint shops, parking garages, and even municipal facilities such as swimming pools with our service.

The 5GAPS (Access to Public Spaces) project is developing an alternative 5G mobile-based, high-precision, feature-enhanced, time-dynamic positioning system based on a digital twin of public and semi-public spaces in the form of a three-dimensional grid. This opens up new applications for 5GAPS users: from high-precision 3D positioning and navigation even inside buildings, to more efficient space management in commercial and public areas, to enhancing spatial perception with image tracker-independent augmented reality services.

HANnovativ

Restart: #HANnovativ is Hannover's smart city initiative. It brings together digital and transformative projects in the city administration. Smart city is not an end in itself, but is intended to solve problems, increase efficiency, and make work and everyday life easier. To achieve this, we put people at the center, work across hierarchies in interdisciplinary teams, and use urban data to apply it in a targeted manner.

neuwagen

With the neu/wagen project, which was launched as a transformation network for the digitalization and sustainable development of the automotive industry in the Hanover/Hildesheim region, a consortium led by the Hanover Region Economic and Employment Promotion Agency is supporting affected companies in identifying and implementing their own transformation paths. The project started on July 1, 2022, and will be funded with around €4 million until June 30, 2025, as part of the "Transformation Strategies for Regions in the Automotive and Supplier Industry" guideline of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK).
