The event is held under the patronage of Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology, and Space. "Maker Faire shows what is possible when people share their ideas – and it encourages us to shape the future together," emphasizes Regional President Steffen Krach, who has opened Maker Faire Hannover as ambassador in recent years.

Crafting, building, inventing, experimenting, learning, and inspiring – that's what Maker Faire is all about. This is where tech nerds, digital talents, and professionals come together in a creative and relaxed environment. Makers, makerspaces, open workshops, schools, universities, and libraries present their own projects, share their knowledge, and network with each other at this family-friendly festival. Many aspiring entrepreneurs showcase their ideas. The program is complemented by numerous hands-on stations for all ages, practical lectures and workshops, and fascinating highlights.
