Hanover-based start-up SigmaHeat secures financial injection in the millions
Heat generation is by far the biggest energy guzzler in buildings. The solution offered by Hanover-based SigmaHeat GmbH offers a quick remedy for the wallet and the environment - and savings of up to 25 percent on heating costs. The approach: measure, analyze and then optimize the systems. The business model is not only well received by customers, but also by investors. With Mittelständische Beteiligungs- gesellschaft Niedersachsen, Hannover Beteiligungsfonds from hannoverimpuls and Suellberg Labs UG (haftungsbeschränkt), SigmaHeat was able to attract three renowned investors and close a financing round worth millions. The existing investors Sebastian Nieder, Stefan Reinisch (Die Energieingenieure), Sönke Brüning (hardware/software development & co-founder) and Maik Brinkmann (CEO & founder) increased their investment.
"We will use the money from the financing round to drive forward the expansion of our locations and further develop the software. In this way, we will optimize the heating systems of the housing industry throughout Germany and thus come closer to our goal of saving five percent of German CO2 emissions - without sacrificing anything," explainsMaikBrinkmann,CEO & founder of SigmaHeat GmbH. The aim of the Hanover-based start-up is to create a future in which heating is resource-neutral. The first step towards economical heating for those interested is the easy-to-install measuring devices from SigmaHeat, as hardly any systems are optimally adjusted today. The solution is completely manufacturer-independent and digitizes almost every system. The associated software analyses the data, makes it available to users on a dashboard and derives optimization suggestions. The technician uses these to adjust the heating system in such a way that heating costs and CO2 emissions are saved in a targeted manner - without sacrificing comfort.
"Innovative climate policy must focus on concrete measures to avoid greenhouse gases in existing systems. SigmaHeat provides a digital service that achieves the greatest possible reduction in greenhouse gases with minimal effort, particularly in the housing industry," says ReinhardHinrichs, Managing Director of Hannover Beteiligungsfonds GmbH,underlining the recipe for success of the young company, which can look back on two very successful financial years in which it was able to multiply its number of customers. At the beginning of October this year, the Hanover-based start-up's smart technology also impressed the jury at EXPO REAL in Munich: SigmaHeat won the startup competition there, the hubitation finals.
