Plastics technology sets standards for future products. In industry-related research, efficient and durable recycling solutions are developed that can revolutionize numerous branches of industry through innovative materials and advanced manufacturing technologies. The life cycle of bio-based and conventional plastics is researched: from material development and testing to the practical implementation of particularly input-specific pre-treatment strategies, right through to recycling and resource efficiency.

The Hannover Region Economic Development Agency supports the transfer of knowledge and technology and advises on innovation and investment projects. For questions in the field of plastics technology, we cooperate with the IKK - Institute for Plastics and Recycling Technology at Leibniz Universität Hannover, among others. The IKK's technical center offers modern laboratories, starting with recycling-friendly pre-treatment, recycling itself, material development, analysis and testing of materials and recyclates through to the ecological evaluation of processes and expert advice for research and development projects from industry and trade:

  • Industry-related research: development of efficient and durable recycling solutions
  • Regranulation and recompounding: high-quality recycling of plastic waste
  • Process development: optimization and innovation of recycling processes
  • Recyclate analysis: Detailed analysis and quality assurance of recyclates
