CREATIVE AND THE CORONA CRISIS - WHAT'S NEXT?

The coronavirus pandemic has had the cultural and creative industries firmly in its grip for over a year, large parts of the industry are suffering from extreme losses in turnover and the outlook is still unclear. To counteract this, the kreHtiv Network Hannover and the German Creative Industries Association (Bundesverband Kreative Deutschland) organized the annual conference on cultural and creative industries as a livestream on 11 May.
The network wanted to offer both the local scene and the many nationally dispersed players in the industry a stage to describe their situation in recent months and create a platform on which they could talk to decision-makers from administration and politics. In addition to a discussion on the current situation and the necessary measures at the location to support the industry in the long term, there was also a round table of politicians in which representatives of the democratic parliamentary groups were asked about their plans for the industry. Finally, representatives of clubs and associations scattered throughout Germany were asked about the biggest problems facing the industry and initial solutions were discussed.
The event, which was supported by the business development agency hannoverimpuls and Radio Hannover, could befollowedon the network's YouTubechannel or on its websitekreHtiv.de.
NETWORKING THROUGHOUT LOWER SAXONY - ASSOCIATION OF LOWER SAXONY'S CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INDUSTRIES (VNKK) FOUNDED
For this reason, the kreHtiv network, together with representatives of other regional creative networks from Lower Saxony, initiated the founding of a state association for the sector, which will take place in the run-up to the annual conference. The Association of Lower Saxony's Cultural and Creative Industries (VNKK) is intended to act as a mouthpiece for the interests of this sector, which is essential for innovation, and represent them on an equal footing with state politicians and other economic sectors. The state's third-largest sector in terms of turnover is thus to be given the status in the public debate that it has long deserved.
