New logistics property in Anderten

The doors of the new logistics property in Hanover-Anderten opened for Rhenus Home Delivery on May 21, 2021. Prologis handed over the tailor-made, energy-efficient new building with an area of 6,256 square meters to the logistics service provider. The property covers an area of almost 18,000 square meters and is located close to the freeway - an important prerequisite for Rhenus' strategy of supplying end customers within northern Germany.
Rhenus Home Delivery is regarded as an international logistics service provider with a global network, which handles last-mile business with furniture, household and electrical appliances, among other things, from the new site.
The project was implemented by the project developer Prologis.
Prologis is a long-term investor and was able to convince the City of Hanover's economic development agency of the planned project. The state capital of Hanover has sold the Am Ahltener Weg site to Prologis for this purpose. The site, which was only partially developed at the time, is the ideal location for the logistics company thanks to its direct connection to the A2 and A7 freeway interchange.
Prologis offers Rhenus maximum flexibility with a ground-level access road and a special configuration of the loading technology. Heavy trucks weighing up to 40 tons as well as 7.5-ton trucks and delivery vans can be loaded and unloaded easily. The number of loading gates at the property is above the industry standard. Prologis has responded to Rhenus' wishes and has created a total of 20 significantly more loading gates, resulting in a genuine last-mile property. This is a significant advantage as Rhenus Home Delivery has a high throughput of goods.
The modern facilities of the logistics property are in line with the sustainability strategy of both companies and meet all the criteria for a gold certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) - a standard that Prologis strives for in every development.
The Prologis Germany team also used the day of the official property handover to thank the people of the Anderten district of Hanover for being such good neighbors. It is part of every Prologis new construction project to support a local non-profit organization - the choice fell on the Freunde Andertens e.V. The association sees its purpose not only in the preservation of Anderten's heritage, but also in the promotion of a broad cultural offering for the residents of the Anderten and Misburg districts. Ute Gremmel, 2nd chairwoman of the association, accepted the donation of 5,000 euros.
Operations in Anderten will start in mid-June.
