Regional Education Advisory Board

The Regional Education Advisory Board’s network of strong partners has been in existence for 10 years. The quarterly plenary meetings typically focus on a specific topic, such as digitalization, the integration of new immigrants, or inclusion. Mr. Ulf-Birger Franz, Head of the Department of Economy, Transportation, Culture, and Education for the Hannover Region, chairs the committee. The Coordination Office for Education and Careers (Katharina Goethe) coordinates the committee.

The Regional Education Advisory Board is an association of the heads or their representatives from institutions in the region involved in the transition from school to work, including

- Representing the municipalities: State Capital of Hanover, City of Garbsen, City of Langenhagen, City of Pattensen
- Hannover Employment Agency
- Hanover Region Job Center
- Representing the vocational schools in the Hanover region: BBS Vocational School 3, BBS Cora Berliner Vocational Schools
- Representing the welfare organizations: Caritasverband Hannover e. V., Diakonie Hannover-Land
- Hanover Chamber of Crafts
- Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce
- Lower Saxony Investment and Development Bank (NBank)
- Regional State Office for Schools and Education, Hannover
- DGB – Lower Saxony-Central Region
- General Employers’ Association of Hanover and Surrounding Areas, Inc.
- Lower Saxony Business Associations / School-Business Partnership
Objective of the Regional Education Advisory Board
The goal is to further develop and strengthen the Hannover Region as a business hub through educational and training initiatives. The focus is on shaping transitions—particularly the transition from school to work. To this end, regular decisions are maderegarding priority development areas through the exchange of current areas of activity among members and input from external speakers.
