Organization of the regional competition “Jugend forscht junior” & “Jugend forscht.”

Young researchers compete in the fields of the working world, biology, chemistry, earth and space sciences, mathematics/computer science, physics, and technology, and present their research findings. The winners of the regional competitions qualify for the state competitions.

The goal of the competition is to foster interest in technology and the natural sciences. Project proposals can be submitted in various competition categories (Workplace, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Sciences, Mathematics/Computer Science, Physics, and Technology).

Terms of Participation

  • Open to students from 4th grade through age 21
  • Students up to age 14 compete in “Jugend forscht junior”
  • Young people (students and apprentices) aged 15–21 compete in “Jugend forscht”
  • College students must be in their first year of study or earlier.
