Female Health Incubator: Innovative health offers at Demo Day 2.0 - Apply now for the 3rd run from January 2022!

Sadness, mood swings and irritability are usually the hallmarks of the so-called "baby blues", post-partum depression after childbirth, which affects more than ten percent of women according to Deutsche Depressionshilfe. With its "digital midwife", Team Mara, led by psychologist Aileen Marske, aims to remedy this situation and provide pregnant women with digital support during and after pregnancy. The preventative service is intended to take the space away from the illness after childbirth.
At Demo Day 2.0, four Hanover-based health start-ups impressed the digitally connected audience with their healthcare offerings in their live presentations. They spent six months working intensively on their business concepts, attending workshops and creating prototypes. The teams, which have received intensive support in developing their business ideas in the second Female Health Incubator (FHI) since May 2021, all have a central focus topic that has been of great importance even before the pandemic: mental health.
"Hannover is at the forefront of female start-ups nationwide and also enjoys an international reputation as an excellent healthcare location - the Female Health Incubator combines both perfectly, which is what has made the format so successful right from the start," says Doris Petersen , Managing Director of hannoverimpuls, emphasizing the impact of the incubator, which aims to reduce the gender gap in medicine and will be launching its third run from January 2022.
Do you sometimes find your calendar gets out of hand and your energy reaches its limits? Then you should get to know Timenest , which aims to provide digital empowerment for career women. Charlotte Malinowski and Marc Funk have thousands of hours of coaching experience and want to empower women on demand with their new self-care service. Their digital generator aims to ensure higher productivity, more success and greater satisfaction among female users.
Dr. Sina Joshi and Lisa Giesecke from the IM STUNDENGLAS team want to solve another major social problem: In the course of a lifetime, everyone is confronted with the issues of loss and grief. A stroke of fate, an illness, death and grief present us with unexpected challenges. IM STUNDENGLAS provides an online portal for family members and friends of a terminally ill person who want to consciously deal with the time that is finally coming. Empathetically and with a great deal of know-how, the service helps with concepts for self-care, suggestions for the sick and important to-dos.
LobVR , Sumin Kim, Imke Mayer, Alexander Palatnik, Marc Viladrich and Timon Jäger, are breaking new ground with virtual reality in the treatment of alcohol-related illnesses - and want to significantly increase the chances of success with the new technology. The team wants to use programmed virtual reality to rethink psychotherapy - for both patients and therapists.
After the six-month intensive period in the Female Health Incubator - for which a start-up grant from NBank could be used if desired - a three-month fade-out phase will now follow for all teams. The Female Health Incubator is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) as part of the "Social Innovation" project.
"Once again, it was great to accompany the four teams as they fine-tuned their business ideas and to see during the presentation that the intensive work of the last few months is bearing such promising fruit," said Dominique Gußmag , one of the project managers of the Female Health Incubator at hannoverimpuls, who was also impressed by the live pitches at Demo Day 2.0.
Interested parties can still apply for the next round of the Female Health Incubator (January to June 2022) until 24.11.2021. Information at www.fhi-hannover.de
