Imitation expressly encouraged! Staircase concert at the Haus der Wirtschaftsförderung

Sitting in the middle of the stairwell, 28-year-old Kassandra Siebel elicits rousing sounds from her classical guitar. There is a special magic in the air that makes this lunchtime unforgettable. Before the coronavirus pandemic, Kassandra Siebel from Hanover had already performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras and chamber music ensembles throughout Germany and won many awards. Today, at the invitation of hannoverimpuls, she creates a captivating world of sound in the stairwell of Vahrenwalder Straße 7.
Performances in public spaces, garden, staircase and balcony concerts are sensible alternatives to normal concert halls in times of corona. hannoverimpuls, in cooperation with the kreHtiv network, also wants to provide an impetus for other companies with the staircase concert. This would allow other audiences to enjoy cultural events again and give artists a stage once more.
"In every musical experience, space and sound form an inseparable connection. This makes it all the more appealing to play in unusual places that have their own atmosphere, their own architecture and ultimately their own acoustic conditions," says artist Kassandra Siebel after her 30-minute live concert with her classical guitar. The spontaneous audience at the Haus der Wirtschaftsförderung is certainly enthusiastic and wants more of the same.
With the call to "play" other unusual places, hannoverimpuls wants to invite many companies to work together with artists to shape the city and the Hannover region again. It is time to take a fresh look and a change of perspective. Because this means that the cultural sector can finally be offered the options again to develop its radiance in front of an audience. This is also economic development, because innovation is the engine of a flourishing economy and is more important than ever, especially in times of crisis.
