Project continues: 300 new "Futurepreneurs" wanted

Hannover Region. Recognizing hidden potential, strengthening creativity and independence and making initial contacts in the start-up scene: with the "Futurepreneur" project, the Hannover Region has been supporting young people in the transition from school to work since 2019. The green light for the continuation of the educational initiative was given today by the responsible expert committee for business and employment: The Hannover Region is funding the project, which is run by Pro Beruf GmbH together with the state capital of Hannover and the employment agency, with around 42,000 euros.
"We not only want to strengthen the practical orientation in upper secondary schools, but also specifically address young people at schools with different social backgrounds," says Ulf-Birger Franz, Head of Economic Affairs for the Hannover Region. "The aim is to awaken entrepreneurial creativity in as many pupils as possible," summarizes Franz with regard to the first phase of the project.
The core of the concept is to enable young people to gain real experience of entrepreneurial thinking and action as early as possible. Over four days, the young people go through the start-up and implementation process as part of a project week. They develop personal business ideas, write a business plan, keep a cash book, test marketing tools, launch a product or service on the market and earn real money with it.
With the support of companies, training guides and careers advice services, the aim is also to establish direct links and connections to training and working life. The program will initially run for 19 months, with a planned start date of 1 January 2022. Around 300 pupils at up to 16 cooperation schools throughout the Hannover Region will be given an insight into the start-up scene to help them make career choices.
