Industrial process heat is a crucial factor on the path to sustainable, future-proof production. However, technical, regulatory, and economic questions remain unresolved. With this webinar, we aim to explore the technical perspective together and discuss new findings directly with researchers and developers.
Companies currently rely on fossil fuels for process heat, which must be replaced. Heat pumps offer significant potential, particularly for low- and medium-temperature processes. In the temperature range up to 200°C, high-temperature heat pumps (HT-WP) are used, and technical development is focused on this area. This is opening up new possibilities for the electrification of industrial heat supply.
But which processes are actually suitable for the use of heat pumps? How large is the market for this technology? Which temperature levels and heat sources are technically feasible? And how far has the market for large-scale and high-temperature heat pumps developed by now?
During the event, we will first provide an overview of the theoretical potential of heat pumps—including high-temperature heat pumps—in industrial settings. We will then examine the current market situation for large-scale heat pumps in industrial applications. The session is expected to conclude with a practical example from a company that has already implemented a heat pump to provide industrial process heat.
