With the"Social Innovation meets Culture"project, we want to jointly develop new solutions for social challenges and support business ideas with social and cultural issues not only in Hanover, but now also in Hildesheim. To this end, we have teamed up withPULS- the new place for inspiration, creativity and diversity in Hildesheim.
The aim is to increasingly address the target group of the cultural and creative industries in order to use the proven structures for generating ideas in the cultural and creative industries and to support the implementation of business ideas with creative or cultural issues.
Ideas for solving social problems are developed in interdisciplinary CREATIVE WORKSHOPS. Innovative start-up concepts are supported and promoted through a four-month, free ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME.
What can you expect on June 3?
In addition to the presentation of the planned project activities, inspiring projects and personalities from the cultural and start-up scene await you at the kick-off:
- You can look forward to Johannes Tomczak from Vivacon Agua Arts introducing us to the world of the international art, music and culture festival"Millerntor Gallery" and highlighting the inspiring links between social entrepreneurship and cultural work.
- Be inspired by Sebastian Jacob, founder ofQuartiermeister, who will be presenting the success story of Germany's first beer brand with a public good balance sheet. Every beer sold supports social and cultural projects.
- From 17:00

The sponsor of the pilot project is the Hannover Region's Economic and Employment Promotion Agency. The strategic partner for start-ups and entrepreneurship is the economic development company hannoverimpuls. Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, NEXTER Entrepreneurship Center, the state initiative LINGA, the Institute for Universal Design, PULS, kreHtiv Netzwerk Hannover and Hafven are also involved as partners.
The Social Innovation Center is currently being funded by the Zukunftsregion Hannover-Hildesheim. Until 2027, the Zukunftsregion will award a total of 4.8 million euros in funding for projects in the areas of "Regional Innovation Capability" and "Culture and Leisure".
