The implementation of an innovative business model or ecologically sustainable production requires both the effective networking of products and systems as well as efficient data evaluation. Both are possible through the use of digital twins.

Digital twins are images of real objects, such as production plants or automotive components. The combination of digital twins with real objects enables energy-saving operation of systems or precise forecasts for the durability of vehicle components. The use of digital twins therefore supports companies both in the implementation of sustainable production and in the development of new product-service combinations.

At theTechMeetup, speakers from the Instituteof Production Engineering and Machine Tools, innoSEPGmbH andVISIONLasertechnik für Forschung und Industrie GmbH will thereforenot only explain the possible applications of digital twins. The prerequisites for implementing them in your own company will also be presented.

The speakers will then answer participants' questions during a paneldiscussion. The Meetup will end with a tour of the test stands at the Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools. During this tour, functional digital twins will be demonstrated on real systems.
