Logistics Is Gaining Traction

The “Logistics Goes to School” consortium of companies has made it its mission to improve the image of the logistics industry among high school students and to support the development of the next generation of talent. To this end, the companies are developing standardized career guidance programs.
These include, for example, hands-on activities and introductory sessions on Logistics Day, a multi-hour classroom module featuring an informational video produced by apprentices themselves, job application training, and an “Apprentice Talk.” In addition, “Logistik macht Schule” is represented at regional training fairs and various school-organized fairs with a specially designed booth where apprentices introduce young people to the field in a fun and engaging way and provide information.
For school representatives (principals, teachers, career counselors, and social educators)—who serve as the link to the target group of young people—teacher days and informational events are organized at the companies. These regular dialogues foster understanding (of specific situations, structures, and target groups), generate ideas, lead to agreements, and build commitment. Schools interested in collaborating should contact the project coordination team.
