Next Level – Mentoring Program in Hanover

July 2, 2026– The mentoring program connects students and executives to jointly develop new ideas for businesses and careers.

The “Next Level – Mentoring Program Hannover” project follows the “reverse mentoring” approach—a two-way transfer of knowledge that has already been tested in the “Mentoring Flex” funding project. In this context, students in particular contribute their experiences and knowledge (e.g., regarding digital work methods, international study and living conditions, or diversity issues). They can serve as sparring partners for the (further) development of services and products or provide input for the recruiting strategies of the participating companies.

At least 30 tandems are to be matched per cycle/semester. The mentorships are supplemented by an accompanying framework program organized by the PHR and by individual counseling services offered by the career centers/services of the respective participating colleges and universities, covering career entry and other career-related topics. The framework program is aimed at mentees as well as participating companies and mentors. (Digital) networking evenings serve to expand professional networks and facilitate knowledge transfer between universities and the participating companies. Care is also taken to ensure that the program can be easily combined with other offerings from the universities’ career centers.

To further strengthen the program’s outreach and impact, the student initiative Janus Consultants e. V. is involved as a cooperation partner. Janus Consultants e. V. actively supports the program’s implementation by promoting it internally within the organization, presenting the mentoring program to members, directly reaching out to members via internal communication channels, and encouraging high-achieving and engaged students to participate in the mentoring program.
