Energy

The secure and economical supply of the economy and the population with emission-free, clean energy has been at the top of the political agenda since the mid/end of the 1990s and has made Germany an international pioneer. The Hannover Region, above all the state capital of Hannover with its diverse large companies in the traditional utility industry, agile SMEs and a broad-based scientific landscape, is regarded throughout Germany as one of the pioneers for the CO2-free, decarbonized energy supply of the future. This is decentralized, regenerative, highly efficient and "smart".

In addition, the energy and resource efficiency potential in production, the real estate industry, transport and logistics, as well as in everyday consumption, must be leveraged in order to significantly reduce primary energy consumption. This increasingly requires the use of information technology.

hannoverimpuls works closely with the LIFE2050 Collaborative Research Center at Leibniz University Hannover and its associated institutes, as well as with Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the Hannover Region Climate Protection Agency network and the enercity funding fund proKlima , and the Hannover IT , Hannover Production Technology Center and Hannover GeoCenter networks.

At the Hannover Messe , the leading trade fairs Energy and WIND (biennial) place the topic of energy technology in the focus of the specialist public every year. With the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH, Hamelin), the Forwind research network of the universities of Bremen, Hanover, Oldenburg and the Energy Research Center of Lower Saxony (EFZN, Goslar) as well as the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES), a closely interwoven, top-class scientific network is available in the Hanover region of Lower Saxony.
