"SHIFT NOW - Your Future Festival" - between career guidance, music and inspiration

21.08.2025 - On 2 September 2025, up to 3,000 young people will experience a program full of future prospects, role models and festival feeling on the grounds of the Faust Cultural Centre.

What does our career choice have to do with the future, self-realization and responsibility? At "SHIFT NOW - Your Future Festival" on September 2, 2025 , everything revolves around these questions. With workshops, company stations, live interviews and concerts, young people between the ages of 16 and 21 can discover future professions free of charge from 10:00 to 16:00 on the grounds of the FAUST cultural center , meet role models, become active themselves and deal with their individual questions, concerns and ideas for their future.

Program highlights

A total of over 50 workshops, interactive company presentations and hands-on activities invite you to try things out: From future skills training to fashion shows, a joint "career walk" with trainees or company representatives* across the festival grounds, to the glitter station for a real festival feeling. Companies such as Continental, the TUI Group, KLAX Niedersachsen gGmbH, LINDENbackt! eG, Musikzentrum Hannover and Heuer & Co. Wohnfühlen GmbH will be demonstrating what working in their sectors looks like in a practical way. Topics such as work-life balance, making decisions or failure as an opportunity will provide valuable impetus in the form of future workshops .

The SchülerInnenZukunftsGipfel in the goods receiving area brings inspiring personalities, live broadcasts and future topics to the stage: from honest trainee discussions and scientific perspectives to reports from Lisbon and the "Mission Future" - including live broadcasts from Borkum and even Antarctica. Careers meet beats at the Azubi Social Club in the Mephisto: live music, DJ sets, bar talks and interactive games such as the "Career Ladder" ensure relaxed discussions with trainees for real insights into career paths.

Concerts: from newcomers to pop hopefuls

The festival combines future topics with a varied music program. Esther Graf is one of the great German pop hopefuls: With soul in her heart, real stories from real life, and a new kind of sound, she has found her own voice. The Steintor Herrenchor , a cult band from Hanover, moves between long reverb tails and vintage synthesizers, carried by punky drum patterns and lyrics about heartache and everyday life. ZAVET was included in the New Music 2025 Hotlist and is one of the most promising newcomers on the music scene. LUNA 's songs combine emotional depth with modern sounds and queer self-empowerment. With tracks like "blau" and her debut album "25/8", she is making a strong statement for a new generation. The line-up will be complemented by other newcomers such as Ottolien , SERPENTIN , Bekkaa and Jonny Mahoro .

"Securing skilled workers is a major challenge at the moment. Projects like SHIFT NOW, which rethink career guidance and meet young people at eye level, are invaluable. The Hannover Region has played a leading role in developing this festival right from the start, because we are convinced that together we can set the course for a successful professional future for our young people."
Steffen Krach, President of the Hannover Region
"Especially in times of global challenges such as climate change, inflation and geopolitical tensions, it is crucial to offer young people guidance and prospects. With SHIFT NOW, we are creating a format that not only provides information about careers, but also encourages young people to discover their own strengths and interests and actively contribute to their future."
Christian Meyer, Lower Saxony's Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate Protection
