Production technology

Hannover is one of the leading international locations for production technology. From traditional mechanical and plant engineering to photonics products and services.

Scientific driving forces such as the Institute for Integrated Production (IPH) and the Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH) are key drivers of innovation. The Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH) , where the production technology institutes of Leibniz Universität Hannover as well as numerous industrial and young technology companies work and conduct research - on over 20,000 square meters under one roof, deserves special mention.

Together with the PZH, hannoverimpuls supports start-ups, existing companies and potential relocations in the field of production technology:

Start-ups and young companies from the industry can rent office and workshop space at fair conditions at the TECHNOLOGIE ZENTRUM in the Science Park. The proximity to established companies and research institutions offers optimal start-up opportunities. hannoverimpuls supports existing companies in the Hannover Region in cooperation with the following partner networks:

"mit uns digital!" shows how old machines can be made fit for the future at low cost and how machine data can be recorded and used profitably. The center illustrates how digitalization works in production and enables individual products in batch size 1. In the general factory, interested visitors can experience digitalization at first hand by producing an individually configurable ballpoint pen. The center is on the road in Lower Saxony and Bremen with a mobile factory, the Roadshowbus.

The aim of "Niedersachsen ADDITIV" is to research additive manufacturing processes, develop them further for widespread use in industry and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Lower Saxony in integrating the new technologies into their production processes. In order to equip SMEs in Lower Saxony for additive manufacturing, Niedersachsen ADDITIV offers information events, seminars and training courses and supports companies in the introduction of the new technologies.

The aim of the industry forum "Competencies in Manufacturing Technology " is to support companies and their employees in coping with current trends such as digitalization and demographic change. In this context, methods of knowledge and skills management are developed and implemented together with member companies in individually tailored projects. Current topics include e-learning and assistance systems that support employees directly at the workplace, as well as tools for workforce planning and knowledge documentation.
