The networked world does not stop at our bodies: around 500,000 body hackers worldwide already wear microchips under their skin to make their everyday lives easier or compensate for physical impairments. Where will technology take us in the future?

In this 25-minute live talk, Melissa Jung, Project Manager for Start-ups and Entrepreneurship at hannoverimpuls, will introduce you to players from the Hannover Region who are driving forward the innovative topic of biohacking. For Dr. Patrick Kramer, microchips under the skin are no longer a dream of the future. He uses them himself and sells microchips via the Internet with his company Digiwell. PD Dr Dominik Pförringer also sees increasing digitalization as a huge opportunity for conventional medicine. The orthopaedic and trauma surgeon is Co-Chairman of the Digitalization Working Group of the German Society for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery. In his view, body hacking can be much more than just a chip under the skin.
