The Hannover Region's Welcome Service offers your newly arrived employees support in settling into their new place of life and work.
In three interactive modules, participants expand their understanding of the German work system, reflect on the differences and similarities between the way of life in their home country and Germany and are given the most important tools for coping with everyday life in their first weeks and months in Germany.
Contents of the three modules
Module 1 - Me and the new society
- February 24/25, 2022
The aim of this module is to help international professionals who are new to the Hannover Region to find their bearings in Germany by means of biographical reflection. As part of the interactive exercises, the participants should experience different ways of life in individual and collective societies and develop their own strategies for everyday life.
The two parts of the event build on each other.
Module II - Working in Germany Part

In this module, participants develop and expand their understanding of the employment system in Germany, such as the rights and obligations of employees and employers. Reflect on the differences and similarities between the world of work in their country of origin and in Germany. They acquire basic knowledge of German migration history and learn about the most important concepts for the integration of immigrants in working life.
The two parts of the event build on each other.
Module III - Shaping everyday life
- March 09, 2022
This module deals with the question "Who is responsible for what?", explains areas of application and provides tips for successfully coping with everyday life. Participants can play an active role in shaping this module and contribute topics that are relevant to them. They receive information about structures, allocation of responsibilities and services in the respective areas (e.g. education, housing, health, residence confirmation).
The course language is German. We recommend a minimum language level of B1 CEFR.
